Ensianrod

The powder dissolved cleanly in warm water with barely any grit, which I wasn't expecting from a bulk herb. I've been steeping a small spoonful before meals and the bitterness is strong but that's exactly what I wanted.

I bought the bulk powder to make tinctures, and a little goes a long way — a quarter teaspoon is plenty for a whole batch. The powder is finely ground and mixes easily, which I appreciate.

The powder mixes into warm water without clumping, which I appreciated since gentian can be bitter enough on its own. I've been adding a small spoonful before meals and the bulk size means I won't run out for months.
